Introducing our WeatherSpork member referral program

Are you a fan of WeatherSpork?  If so, we have a way for you to earn our gratitude!  With each new member you refer, we will extend your annual member by one month.  Twelve referrals means you’ll get an entire year free.  It’s that simple.  You could become a Sporkie for life if you referred at least one new member each and every month.  So what are you waiting for…let’s get Sporking!

To receive credit be sure that when your friend joins by visiting WeatherSpork.com they include your first and last name in the “How did you hear about WeatherSpork and/or AvWxWorkshops.com?” field during the registration process.  Then within the next 5-7 business days (or less) you will see your expiration date pushed into the future by a month.  If you’ve already referred a friend or two since we released the app on March 1, then your membership has already been adjusted.  Thanks for your contribution!

We know that WeatherSpork can’t grow unless our customers stand behind the product.  We hope that you can help us grow to remain the gold standard for aviation weather in the coming months and years.

Spork meets Droid, Android, that is!

We are excited to let you know that we’ve just released our new app to Google Play for those that use an Android device.  With very few exceptions, the WeatherSpork app will have the same look and feel and has all the same features as our popular iOS and web-based versions of WeatherSpork.  So when you are an “exSporkt” on one device, you are an exSporkt on all WeatherSpork platforms.  U.S. Droid users, don’t delay, go right now and visit Google Play. You won’t be disappointed.

At this time, WeatherSpork is only available to U.S. customers for Google Play.

Data outage in WeatherSpork

Currently there is a data outage in the weather imagery within WeatherSpork.  This has affected the GFS, NAM and RAP models.  For now we have removed the stale imagery from WeatherSpork. We are working to correct this issue.  We hope to have a solution in the next few days.  For now, if you would like to access this imagery on the NOAA site, please visit http://mag.ncep.noaa.gov/. We apologize for any convenience and appreciate your kind patience as we work through this outage.

Having trouble logging in to WeatherSpork?

Are you having an issue logging in to WeatherSpork?  Here’s what you can do to solve that issue.  First, you will need to be a paid member of AvWxWorkshops.com to use WeatherSpork.  If you don’t have a membership or your membership has lapsed, you will not be able to use the application.  Second, if you believe you have an active membership to AvWxWorkshops.com and can’t login, you may want to first try to go to http://avwxworkshops.com and try out your email and password to see if you are able to login there.

If you can login to AvWxWorkshops.com, then you can use those same credentials to login to http://weatherspork.com or the free WeatherSpork app.  Most likely if you are still having issues, you may be entering in the wrong password.  Give it a second or third try…you won’t get locked out.  Here’s a video that also may help.

If you are still having issues, please send an email to [email protected] and we’ll be happy to help.

Transitioning from AvWxWorkshops to WeatherSpork

Welcome to WeatherSpork, your best online source for aviation weather and education.  If you are a current subscriber of AvWxWorkshops.com, you can continue to use that  website until further notice.  Your current email address and password from AvWxWorkshops.com is needed to login to both WeatherSpork.com and the new WeatherSpork app that is now available for free download in the App Store.

WeatherSpork will provide access to the same bite-sized online workshops along with a much improved user interface to the same (but expanded) weather guidance found in the Internet Wx Brief Roadmap.  We hope you will have a better overall experience using many of the new features integrated into the new WeatherSpork app and website.  Lastly, you will also retain access to any premium workshops that you have purchased in the past.

For the moment, renewal of your membership and purchase of premium workshops, live workshops and online training will still be accomplished by visiting AvWxWorkshops.com.  In the future, we hope to fully integrate subscription renewals (and auto-renewals) into the account management feature of WeatherSpork.com.

Most importantly, we need your help to spread the news to every pilot about this evolving new application.  We’re not looking to replace your current flight planning app.  Instead, we believe WeatherSpork will represent a great companion to the current application(s) you use in the cockpit.   Stay tuned in the coming months and years as we roll out many amazing groundbreaking features to help you fly with more confidence and make planning easier than ever before.
